SCI-TECH23 HACKATHON by the Africa Manufacturing Innovation Hub (AMIHUB) is a testament to the fact that Nigeria is a hotbed of technology and entrepreneurship. The event which took place on Tuesday 21st November 2023 at Ebitimi Banigo Hall, University of Port Harcourt recorded a huge success.
The Hackathon provided a platform for Hardware, IoT, Embedded Systems Engineers, and Software Engineers to present their cutting-edge technology solutions in sectors such as Oil and Gas, Energy, Digital Communications, Health and Safety, and Security. A total of 19 participants presented various technologies and solutions. We saw on display innovation and ingenuity waiting to be harnessed. SCI-TECH HACKATON 2023 is a story that is just beginning.

WINNER | ACECORE INCORPORATED LIMITED
ACECORE INCORPORATED LIMITED (N2, 000,000.00) presented an advanced renewable energy solution designed and manufactured in Port Harcourt. The device called Acecore Powercell, is an advanced energy generation and storage system designed to provide reliable and uninterrupted power to homes and businesses.
The powercell can store excess energy from renewable sources like solar power and release it during power outages of peak demand times. It is more than just a backup; it is a sustainable energy solution for homes and businesses. The device comes with the Powercore App, which empowers users to monitor and optimize their energy consumption.
TXONE TECHNOLOGIES (N1, 500,000.00) showcased an IOT/Automated Gas Monitoring and Information Dissemination Device manufactured in Akwa Ibom State. The product comprises of an Automatic Valve lock control, WiFi integration, IOT Web-dashboard, and a Mobile app with interactive user interface.
The device detects gas leakage to increase user safety, monitor gas level remotely for timely refill, regulate low pressure to save over 40% of gas and eliminate illegal refill and upfront fuel costs.

MOON INNOVATION (N1, 000,000.00) presented an interesting integrated Solar Inverter with Wi-Fi and Wireless Surveillance Camera manufactured in Delta State.
The Solar Smart Inverter system is equipped with a camera that is enabled with internet access that makes security surveillance seamless. The product comes with a mobile App that uses a monthly bundle subscription.
TECH CHAA special Student Category was Tech Champ (Secondary Students) who won N300, 000.00. The team presented GBS Alert system is a safety solution designed for individuals, particularly for children and females, to swiftly seek help in moments of abuse and distress.
It is a hardware and mobile solution designed to help children and females get help while under distress. It is designed as a wearable device that can be attached to a key holder for easy access.
